‘Turquoise Coral’

Hidden underneath the surface

Before adding any color, I worked with texture to give this painting its structure. I created little shreds and was curious to see if this would work. As I added layers of dark blue and turquoise, the shreds turned into something that looks like a coral reef seen from above. I like this because just like someone’s personality, you can’t see how beautiful it really is until you look beyond the surface.
